Hello
again! This week when reading in the white handbook we read about being
together all the time. I think I made jokes about it all day long ha
ha. Really though we have stepped it up on really making sure we are
always in sight and hearing distance. The concert we had last night was
insane and so was church.. it was just easier to have S. Jakobs as my
companion. She is a wonderful missionary. This week in preach my gospel I
read about how to be a better teacher and while I was reading about
adopting to our investigators I realized its one of my favorite parts of
missionary work. Its the unknown factor. Everyday is full of
miracles!..and it's what I call the 'what if' because anything could
happen when you walk out that door. So when we are in teaches and try
adapt to the investigators that's when you are figuring out that unknown
factor and that is what I find super exciting! We had an awesome teach
with Maria, that had a baptismal date last Saturday, and 3 members this
week. We weren't sure we would invite Linda to come along because that
meant a lot of people but it seemed to be right and it ended up being 3
members on the teach. It was good because Maria was not ready for
Saturday and she was able to express it to 2 Spanish speakers. Linda
can't speak Spanish but she really connected with her and she had shared
a scripture that ended up hitting one of the ones translating. We are
trying to help him get on a mission and he felt that that scripture was
for him. 3 Nephi 13:31-34 he realized he has to stop worrying about this
and that but just focus on the kingdom of God (or a mission is his
case) right now and it will work out. My faith was definitely
strengthened after this teach. I loved the scripture and Linda was on
that teach for Ruben.
Bob does have a baptismal date this Saturday and we are really
hoping, and so is he, that God will help him to find an answer. He just
has such strong ties to his church back in Africa, the assembly of God.
We feel he does have an answer though. Its just a matter of his courage.
The Alingsås sisters stayed over this week so that they could hold a
concert here and in another ward. My comp and S.Talbot are amazing on
the piano and so they have put together a concert that teaches the first
3 lessons and they play tons of music and its all done in 1 hour. Well
the first one went pretty well.. not too many came but yesterday here in
our ward was insane. Tons of people came we figured it was around 130
people and tons of non-memebers. We are going to Göteborg Sept16th to
hold another one of these concerts in Västra Frölunda. Hope tons come!!!
Thanks for all you do!
Love Syster Sprague
