Love to be a missionary!!

Hej på er!!

April was most possibly the fastest month of my life. There has been a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. We had some big plans and goals for April, and even though not all have been fulfilled it gave us a lot to reach for which was good. I hope that we can reap some of our hard work in the month of May. This week we had a lot fall through it seemed everyday we had at least two things cancel on us. We kept pushing through though and kept finding miracles. It really shows us the importance of planning too. I think Saturday was one of the coolest days of my mission. We had so many back up plans I though there was no way we would get to all of it. No no way. We did all of our plans back up plans and even more. We made two of our new investigators that day and I feel we were really led by the spirit. It was absolutely exhausting, and super rewarding. We met a girl,Lena, that has a Book of Mormon but hasn't read anything in it. She is interested in what we have to say and says we can come back. Right before we leave though she tells us she is a homosexual. I think the spirit about kicked me to speak up. I testified that her Father in Heaven still loves her and wants the best for her. She looked really surprised actually. But saying it I knew without a doubt that what I was saying was true and that no matter what she has done he still wants her happiness.

We have had so many plans fall through. One day we went back home and baked a ton of cookies and went out to 7 different families or people and dropped them off. I feel like I have become a professional cookie maker. I really hope so too. We have an activity this Friday for the kids ages 12 to 18 and its an American night. So we have to make two American desserts. We'll see how they turn out. I at least make chocolate chip cookies.. how more American can you get?? Maybe other than apple pie. That was a possibility but also one I have never attempted. Sounded like a bad idea to me. Ha ha

We had an amazing Thursday. It started out with us teaching district meeting. And can I just say.. I seriously love the new senior couple, Elder and Sister Oscarson. Not only because they come from Pleasant Grove, but they are just awesome. They have so much experience behind them I want to be like them someday. We taught about finding work and really what our finding work should be focused on. MeMbErS! The best way to do missionary work is to find, teach, and baptize with a member there the whole time. Becasue it is a members friend!! Mom I'm happy to hear you talk about member missionary work. That is awesome. Can you imagine if every member in the world helped one person every year to get baptized we would grow so so so fast and everyone would have the support they need. Also the member wouldn't be too overwhelmed.. its just one person. Hmm I hope to be a great member missionary someday. We had a member yesterday, Rikard, come up to us and ask us and our investigator to come over for dinner just on the spot. He had never met him or anything. Man that was awesome!---- Well that was quite a tangent :) So the reason Thursday was such a good day was because to teach Manal. The skype was being funny so we couldn't see her but she could see us and we could hear just fine. Man it was amazing. We have just stayed on schedule. She wants to know all the commandment so we taught tithing. It was SUPER duper easy. She was like oh.. okay no problem. She even said oh thats easy I understand it and have no problem living that. Love her!

We had a chance to teach Ulf again (Anne Marie's husband). Anne Marie is a convert to the church for 10 or so years. She married this wonderful guy named Ulf who does not quite believe in God. He does on the other hand love nature.. and is a big softy at heart. On your first look.. he has a pony tail, doesnt have his right ring finger, and lots of permanent dirt caked into his nails. He looks pretty rough. We taught him the plan of happiness last time and this time taught him about the restoration (joseph smith's story). At first he told us.. he wasn't open at this time. But he watched the Joseph Smith film... and questions came pouring out. The spirit really does guide us in teaches... because it helps us ask the perfect questions to touch a persons heart. We asked a question about his father and their relationship... ding ding ding! To Ulf his family means everything. As he explained this love he had for his dad, his children, his brand new grandchild... tears began to fall down his face. It was amazing. From going to a closed off man he became soft and open ready for the healing affects of the gospel. It was amazing. After explaining.. Ulf said, Okej lets stop now.. i hate crying. haha. And then throughout the closing prayer he kept on crying. I love Ulf! Now he just has to start reading the Book of Mormon.

I never talk about how beautiful Sweden is. Or at least not anymore. I really should take more pictures too.. my bad. I love it here. The weather even. I never die of heat, but we'll see how the summer goes haha. The sun doesn't go down now until just after 9:00 pm that is fun. It is easier to talk to people because they are still out when the sun is. And the sun sets here are THE most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. They literally stretch across the entire sky. Last night it was like a rainbow. You almost saw every color!! So we got ice cream the other day and ended up teaching a 45 min lesson to the people that sold it to us. Man that was awesome. The boy was 18 and loved that we were from America. The girls were 22 and the teach was awesome. Its cool when people will stop and ask you questions!
Love Syster Sprague
