HEJ HEJ!!
Happy Fathers Day Pappa!!!!!
I
am sad to say that Manal was here one week and is now back in Lebabnon.
We saw her everyday before she was left and suddenly we never see her.
Her husbands mother passed away and they flew back within 12 hours. That
night was a miracle though! We contemplated going home or not and it
took us forever to make a decision. We almost got off the bus 3 times
and finally got all the way home. In the parking lot was a friend of
Kanaans and his wife waiting for him to come home. Within 3 minutes he
came home and we were able to be there for him. Wow! What a miracle! We
then made them dinner because they had no time. It felt so good to serve
in such a desperate time of need. I was so thankful to the Lord and his
spirit that led us home where we were needed. The beautiful thing was
the talk I have read that morning... I remember thinking, "why did I
read that one? It isn't any help to my spiritual though for district
meeting." It was the talk, And a Little Child Shall Lead Them by Packer.
He spoke of two missionaries that showed up to a funeral of a child who
had drowned and they were able to comfort the parents after a priest
said some terrible things to them because the child was not baptized. We
were able to do the same for Kanaan. He has now lost both his parents
and I really hope they help him from the other side understand Gods
plan. He has a hard time believing in God and his wife is very much the
oppostite. We spoke to her about being baptized and of course she just
needs a real confirmation of the Book of Mormon. We totally agree. We
also spoke quite a bit about how she would attend church in Lebanon or
how the church will work there. She really isn't too worried in her
words, "If there's a will there's a way." She is already willing to
build up the church if that is what needs to happen. Love her!
Tuesday was an awesome day. We were here and there and
everywhere! With bikes and a small town you can get around the whole
town a few times in one day. We ate lunch with members and dinner with
investigators. Totally out of surpriset too.. so with our next teach we
gave our dinner we had made to our invest and the member that came on
the teach. Haha life can be so much fun! We went on a walk with an older
woman, Kathe. She is an awesome missionary! After the walk we were
inside and gave them a short message and had a little fika (snack) and
they had told us of a possible investigator. As we are there this woman
calls and wants to come back and learn more from Kathe. The woman is 78
years old and wondering about God. Beautiful story really. So amazing
little Kathe, who is 80 herself, invites her over and says that the
sister missionaries can come too. Bam! Member missionary work. This will
be our 5 member friend we are teaching. I tell you... sometimes its
hard to count miracles and blessing the Lord gives each and everyone of
us everyday. They really are too many to count. Anyway we meet her on
Saturday.
Saturday is Midsommars day! Its a huge
celebration/holiday here. It means that after that day we start loosing
light. So right now we only have a few hours of darkness and so our
nights are very short. Up in Norrland they don't every see the night.
Its sunny all day and all night. But not after Midsommars.. the sun will
start to go down earlier and come up later. Its shocking how fast too.
We finally got out of the dark and its already coming back. Summer here
is very summery like it is in Utah haha nothing like dry summer air. It
rains almost everyday.
Danielle says hi :)
and Frida!
Love Syster Sprague
